Club Project

An in house project was conducted by Angela to help members make the Split Steps Block pattern from McCalls These ladies made lots of progress so will be soon seeing some completed tops. There is lots of space and good lighting to have sewing days in the club's new premises.

These are some of the colour combinations that were used. There will be some stunning quilts on display at our upcoming exhibition in September.

There was also another 2 completed tops on display, made from left over fabrics.

Sewing days

The club,s sewing and stitching days are always full of activities and members proudly hang their quilts to show and tell us about them.

Angela showed a quilt that she made some time ago, still looking lovely.

 Stars from scraps, so many colours in this quilt.

Kat needed to use some of her green fabric so made this lovely bright quilt.
Angela called this a Floral Fantasy combining lots of floral fabrics from her collection.

Lots to show and tell

Another busy day with ladies showing and telling us the story behind their completed quilts.
 Kathy displayed some of her items that she has made from fabrics that she has embellished and dyed herself.
 Fay completed this quilt that was donated for the community quilt group.
 Lyn used scraps to make this top.
 Beryl had fun playing with the Accuquilt cutter.
 Trish made this lovely and bright quilt with bali fabrics. It is the front of the pieced back that she showed us last week.

Social day

There were lots of quilts on display and social catching up at the club's new meeting venue.
These are the quilts that some ladies have ben busy making for family and friends, and trying new patterns and ideas.
Heather has done Boro stitching on these table centre's.

Kathy made this disappearing 9 patch to use up some scraps.

Trish made this for a backing trying out a new style.

Bev says this is going to be her use up the scraps year!

Welcome 2017

Toowoomba Quilters welcomed in the New Year in style in a new home, it was a big step for the club after meeting at the one venue for over 25 years. There were lots of boxes to unpack and sorting to be done ready for the year ahead.
Show and tell was a delight to see, some ladies were very busy over the holidays.

There is lots of room for the ladies to spread out and socialise with other members.

Show and Tell

There have been some lovely quilts displayed at our regular meeting days. Cast your eyes over these beautiful quilts that members have been busy completing for family and friends.

                                           Trish made this from scraps. A split 9 patch pattern.
 Gail's lovely bag was beautifully made.

 A new great grandson will receive this lovely quilt.
 Angela has found a way to display badges collected over the years by her son.
 Trish was asked to make a green and pink quilt for someone special.
 Ferne called this one Ladies in Black. It was her own design.
 Mr and Mrs Clause came to visit.

 Ann's quilt with Japanese fabric.
Daphne has been making this Blue and Yellow quilt with hand applique and machine piecing. Just sewing the binding down.
 The club finished the year off with a Christmas luncheon at a local venue.
